Welcome to 2011! This one, my friends, goes up to 11.
Back in the fall, I murmured a couple of times about “big news.” A lot of you asked what that was, and then I stopped posting on my blog and nobody ever found out. Turns out, the answers are intertwined:
I was recently hired by WeVolt to pencil and ink a three-issue miniseries. Obviously, this is great, big, wonderful news and I’m so excited to be on board with the tremendous folks over there as a professional comic book artist. A big “Thank You” goes out to my friend Dan Kram, who got my portfolio in, and of course Matt Jacobs and Jason Badower, the fine gentlemen who run the show over there and are the other creative forces on the project.
The book is called Chrome, and will be available for FREE over at WeVolt before you know it. How will you survive without our sweet comics until then? SIGN UP over at WeVolt — there’s already heaps of cool stuff and it’ll only be a short while before Chrome is over there as well.
So, drawing this series is where I (and this blog) have disappeared to. Turns out this illustration thing takes a lot of time and energy (who knew!) And, as a hot new project it’s been somewhat under wraps at the moment. Don’t worry, I’ll be making lots and lots of noise when you all can read it, and posting snippets of production art or other things I’m working on in the meantime.
So that’s where I’ve been — chained to my desk, drawing till my fingers bleed and loving it. Chrome is obviously my focus for the moment, but as always, there are other things simmering on the back burner, so stay tuned, True Believers. 2011 is going up to 11!
